A classic adapted from a recipe by Peter singer.

Ingredients

  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 20 ml huile d’olive
  • 2 table spoon curry powder
  • 2 table spoon cumin powder
  • 1 tea spoon rosemary
  • 1 table spoon cumin seeds
  • 1 table spoon coriandre seeds
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 450 g red lentils
  • 2 cans of 400 g canned tomatoes
  • 400 ml coconut milk
  • coriandre

Steps

  1. Chop the garlic and onion and start cooking them in huile d’olive.

  2. Add the curry powder and the cumin powder, herbs (for example rosemary), and ground cumin seeds and coriandre seeds.

  3. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Add the red lentils.

  5. Add the canned tomatoes et half of the coconut milk.

  6. Add water to cover the lentils.

  7. Slow cook for at least 30 minutes, till the lentils are fully cooked.

  8. Add more water if necessary.

  9. Serve with fresh coriandre (for those who like it).
